This raises the question: How is this character sufficiently strong to raise Alastor above every other Sinner Demons?

“The Rosie and Alastor deal is the first stepping stone in a larger narrative that encompasses a great deal, leading into season 3,” the creator explains. “Clearly that is a perfect question: How is she that powerful? The solution could be various factors, but the revelation is in season three. I am thrilled for fans to see it.”

Mysteries Resolved in Season 3

The creator promises that the upcoming season will address the queries fans have been asking, such as why Rosie ordered Alastor to vanish for seven years, which weakened his influence in Hell.

“The whole seven years, and the pacts these individuals are doing, and everything — it contributes to a larger story,” she reveals.

In the meantime, the Rosie/Alastor backstory episode provides another glimpse into what the core cast of Sinner Demons appeared as as humans, following after seeing another character's historical mortal appearance in the second episode. The creator explains that significant consideration went into these character designs.

“The mortal forms of these personas carry so much weight,” she notes. “They range from appearing really different from their infernal version to seeming almost identical. With the first character, the first one we see, there was a little bit of a debate internally between going with a design that symbolizes the character, versus selecting something that's historically correct. We opted for making a design that just seemed like it was him.”

She says the primary controversy over the mortal look of Pentious was his lengthy locks: “We were like, ‘Nobody really had extended hair like that in Victorian-era London.’ But at the same time, we think the outline is extremely crucial, and we also just thought he looked good. We were like, ‘This seems correct.’ We sort of gave the excuse that he's a hermit, so he just let his hair grow out. So there is always a solution. As we create the human versions of these characters […] it is a very enjoyable process to investigate and figure out. I'm excited for fans to view additional of what the human forms look like.”
